Future Donors & To Whom It May Concern: The FIRST Robotics competition season has officially begun. With the new season, every team must scramble for the necessary funding to be able to participate in the competition. The CTA (Construction Tech Academy) Hammer Heads, a relatively new team to FIRST, needs your help. FIRST (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology) is a program dedicated to spreading Science and technology to todays youth. It is a multi national non profit organization aspiring to make science and technology as widespread and enjoyable as sports are today. For more information about FIRST, visit their website at http://www.usfirst.org. Each individual team is given the task of creating, developing and building a robot to compete in a fast paced game. The game changes every year. (For information, visit the FIRST website). Right now, the CTA Hammer Heads are in the brainstorming and development stage of their robot. The CTA Hammer Heads need financial istance so they can further develop their game. Each competition cost $4,000 - $6000. They are being held in Phoenix, Arizona and Las Vegas, Nevada. The CTA Hammer Heads, a San Diego based team, will need to provide for the traveling costs. The costs include getting there, transportation around the city, and hotel rooms. Of course, the rates vary from place to place. Another monetary challenge that faces The CTA Hammer Heads is the costs for the additional materials for their robot. The robot itself requires more than $1,000 of extra equipment such as batteries, wheels, netting, batteries, wiring, programming software, controls, and so fourth. Unfortunately, the current funds of the CTA Hammer Heads cannot handle this extensive budget. There are a few things that you can do to help the CTA Hammer Heads. You can donate your time, money and/or resources. Helping us can also help you. If you donate, your company will receive a tax write off. We also acknowledge our sponsors, either on our site, brochures, shirts or actual robot. The CTA Hammer Heads have three levels of sponsorship, Platinum, Gold and Silver. The Silver level of sponsorship is $4,000 and above, the Gold Level is $6,000 and above, and the Platinum Level is $9,000 and above. Of course, we take donations below these levels. If you are interested in donating, please contact the CTA Hammer Heads Mentor, John Riego de Dios at 7651 Wellington Street Sand Diego, CA 92111 or by phone at (858) 496 8370 ext. 4001. Your help will be greatly appreciated. Thank you for supporting education.
